Literacy
Students used their knowledge of paragraph writing to write "If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be and why?" Their paragraph writing skills are improving as they are now writing more than three details within each paragraph!

Our Author Studies are coming along as students are inputting their jot notes into a source such as PowerPoint or a Google Slides presentation.

QUESTION: What is the most interesting fact you found out about your author?

Math
Students learned a variety of games to strengthen their place value knowledge to the ten thousands. We also worked on our understanding of greater than, less than and equal to.

QUESTION: Are you able to order the age of each family member from least to greatest and greatest to least?

Social
Question:What do you already know about Alberta? What did you find out when you skimmed through the test book (Wow!) and what do you still want to know (Wonder?).

French
Halloween est en Octobre!
This week French included integration with math, art, buddies and of course music!
A classic French Halloween song that some of our parents sang when they were in school!

Question: Ecoute! Listen to this song. What French Halloween vocabulary can you teach your parents? Listen

Combien de graine est dans le citrouille (How many seeds are in the pumpkin)?

QuestionDonner une estimation trop grande, trop petite et raisonnable?
(Give an estimation that is too big, too small and reasonable).

Counter les Grain dans la Citrouille (Count the seeds in the pumpkin):
un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf, dix

Question: Combien de graines (How many seeds are there)? Look at the picture below. Help count the number of seeds by tens: dix, vingt, trente, quatante, cinquante, soixante, soixante-dix, quatre vingt...

Question: How close was your estimation to the actual amount? Was your estimation actually "trop grande, trop petite ou raisonnable"?

We made pumpkins with our buddies to help them learn about shapes. Then we used our pumpkins to learn the vocabulary of shapes in French.

Je sculpte la Citrouille. Qui a choisi ...un cercle, un curre, un rectangle, untriangle, an ovale, un croissant...

Question: C'est une citrouille avec quoi (It is a pumpkin with what?)...un cercle, un curre, un rectangle, untriangle, an ovale, un croissant...
